Application

All the models mentioned are closed studio headphones. Due to their design, all models offer a high level of sound insulation and are therefore ideal for recording and monitoring applications.

Sound

DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition vs. DT 770 PRO

What the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition and DT 770 PRO studio headphones have in common is their similar sound signature with prominent bass and detailed treble.

Thanks to the dynamic STELLAR.45 driver (48 ohms) with its wide frequency response of 5 to 40,000 Hz, the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition delivers studio reference sound on various playback devices. At the same time, the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) has been reduced in the Limited Edition, which allows for a better sound profile. Thanks to its high efficiency, the model also requires less voltage to achieve high sound pressure levels.

The DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition has the familiar sound tuning of the DT 770 PRO with a boost in the bass and treble frequencies. The sound tuning of the DT 700 PRO X can be described as more linear, especially in the high-frequency range.

Both headphones have a similar sound signature with prominent bass, a slightly reduced mid-range and detailed treble. In addition, they both boast outstanding impulse behaviour and three-dimensional sound reproduction. In direct comparison, the DT 1770 PRO has a slightly more perceptible bass range.

Impedance

The STELLAR.45 driver system used in both the new DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition and the DT 700 PRO X released in 2021 has an impedance of 48 ohms. The sound transducer uses a powerful neodymium magnet and a voice coil made of copper-plated precision wires. The resulting high conductivity of the driver system combined with its low weight is the reason for its high performance. Thanks to their technical features, both the DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition and the DT 700 PRO X convince on various playback devices such as mobile devices and high-quality interfaces or headphone amplifiers.

The DT 770 PRO, on the other hand, is available in three different impedances: 32, 80 and 250 ohms.

While the 32-ohm version can also be used with mobile devices, the 250-ohm version is particularly suitable for use with high-quality and powerful amplifiers and interfaces. The 80-ohm version is the perfect choice for common interfaces and amplifiers and is a convincing choice for home studios, for example.

The DT 1770 PRO has a dynamic Tesla driver. The Tesla system functions using an impressively efficient operating mode and enables precise and distortion-free sound to be achieved even at high output levels. The German-made driver has 250 ohms and is therefore suitable for use with high-quality amplifiers or interfaces.
