For champions: the best sound

Good sound is much more than an optional extra when playing. In atmospheric single-player games, varied RPG titles, PvEs, PvPs, MMOs or Battle Royales, the sound is half the battle. In addition to creating the atmosphere, the sound naturally also provides spatial orientation. In doing so, it provides crucial information on distance and direction. Last but not least, you have to be able to hear the voices of the other players clearly and distinctly, just as your voice should be heard clearly by them.

That’s why we have optimised and developed the entire MMX series for the gaming experience. Each model in the range is characterised by one core feature – the sound. Spatial depth, vibrant bass, crystal-clear mid-range and nuanced treble inspire gamers and bring out the best in games. It’s not just our customers that agree; our various test wins and awards prove this as well.
With the MMX 300 PRO, we have gone one step further and worked on the latest state of the art in terms of studio sound, microphone quality and comfort to inspire both dedicated recreational gamers and professionals in the industry with a new addition to their equipment.

To be specific, we have built on our previous top performance in terms of sound, comfort and value: The sound is even better, the comfort is even more pleasant and the workmanship is unrivalled.

MMX 300 PRO Gaming Headset

But let’s start with the sound.

The MMX 300 PRO – like its predecessor, the 2nd generation MMX 300 – is an analogue headset. Because many gamers and PC users prefer to connect their headset via cable, we have once again opted for a wired version.

Like the MMX 300, the MMX 300 PRO is manufactured at our company headquarters in Heilbronn using our in-house acoustic driver. The most important difference in sound is that
we gave the PRO model the STELLAR.45 driver, which we developed for our PRO X professional headphone series. This driver delivers first-class studio quality and an extremely clean, balanced sound across the entire frequency spectrum.

The STELLAR.45 driver was customised for the MMX 300 PRO to meet the requirements of gaming headsets – the surround sound is so clear and refined that you feel like you’re right in the middle of the game. Atmospheric sounds and music become a compelling experience. Sound is always an advantage in a game when you can estimate the position and distance to PvP opponents, bosses, events and the like with a high degree of accuracy.

And when it comes to the voice quality,

of course you also want to be well understood by your Discord party. For the MMX 300 PRO, we have further optimised our high-performance condenser microphone, including an extended frequency range. The sound is particularly precise – the model is impressive with maximum speech intelligibility and is perfectly balanced in the treble and bass.

Headphone transmission range:
MMX 300 – 5 to 35,000 Hz
MMX 300 PRO – 5 to 40,000 Hz

Microphone transmission range:
MMX 300 – 30 to 18,000 Hz
MMX 300 PRO – 20 to 20,000 Hz

The functions

Both the MMX 300 and the MMX 300 PRO are characterised by their closed-back design, the circumaural construction (say goodbye to disturbing external noise) and the cardioid polar pattern of the microphone.

Another very practical feature they share and one that all gamers love is being able to control the volume and muting conveniently and reliably using controls on the cable.

Compatibility and impedance

Both the MMX 300 and the MMX 300 PRO are compatible with all consoles and with a PC via the jack connection. Both headsets deliver a clean, precise sound profile on all these systems.

The MMX 300 is available in two versions, either with 32 or 250 ohms. However, the MMX 300 will be discontinued with the launch of the MMX 300 PRO.

Watch out: You can buy the MMX 300 as B-stock in the beyerdynamic Outlet for a short time. Availability is limited, but if you are interested it is definitely worth visiting our outlet regularly.

Thanks to its STELLAR.45 driver with an impedance of 48 ohms, the MMX 300 PRO is perfectly suited for use with any hardware: Whether it’s the hi-fi system, a VoIP call in the office or home office, or a switch – the headset is ideal for every scenario and delivers clear, distortion-free sound in every situation.

Design and comfort

The external similarity between the MMX 300 and MMX 300 PRO models cannot be denied – black, large shapes and clear lines that indicate their technical sophistication.

The standard version of the MMX 300 comes in black with replaceable velour ear pads. The MMX 300 PRO also has an impressively elegant black colour. The spare parts are also replaceable as standard at beyerdynamic, meaning you can look forward to your new favourite headset having the longest possible service life.

As comfort is just as important when gaming as sound quality and durability, we are constantly working to improve ergonomics. As a result, the new design differs not only with its slimmer, smoother edges, but also with two other adjustments:
The headband pad of the MMX 300 PRO now has a fontanel cut-out and a push-button fastener – a feature of our professional studio headphones. The fontanel is an area of the head that is particularly sensitive to pressure, and constant pressure can lead to tension or headaches when gaming or streaming for hours on end. The recess in the headband padding relieves pressure on this area of the head, so that even after several hours of use, the headset feels just as comfortable as it did when it was first put on.

Weighing just 314 grams, the MMX 300 PRO is also slightly lighter than the MMX 300.
