DT 30 IE VS. DT 7X IE-SERIES: WHICH IN-EAR MONITOR IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

You want to start with in-ear monitoring – but which model is right for you? We show you what sets the DT 30 IE apart compared to the DT 70 IE, DT 71 IE, DT 72 or DT 73 IE and how to make the right decision for your stage.

From stage monitor to in-ear: a real step forward

Imagine this: you’re standing on stage, the drums are pounding through the room, the guitar amp is roaring from behind – and you’re still trying to hear your vocals clearly. Sound familiar? Then you know why in-ear monitoring is a game changer.

Switching from traditional floor monitors to in-ears means more control, less stage noise, and a consistent mix – no matter where you’re playing. But not all in-ears are the same. That’s why we offer two classes in our portfolio: the DT 30 IE as a professional entry point and the DT 7X IE series as a specialized reference class.

Which model is right for you mainly depends on where you currently stand – and where you want to go.

DT 30 IE: the robust all-rounder for the stage

The DT 30 IE is designed for musicians who want to take their first serious step into professional in-ear monitoring. Ambitious emerging bands, semi-professional cover acts, singer-songwriters with their own setup – that’s the target group.

What sets the DT 30 IE apart:

  • Balanced sound signature: no exaggerated bass, no overly boosted highs – just an honest, natural sound that works for many instruments.
  • High passive sound isolation of up to 39 dB – you hear your mix, not the stage.
  • Kevlar®-reinforced cable with MMCX connector: detachable, replaceable, stage-ready.
  • IP54 protection against dust and water splashes – even during sweaty performances.
  • Compact, ergonomic housing with ear tips (silicone and foam) for an optimal fit.

  • DT 70 IE – for mixing & critical listening: linear tuning, ideal for live sound engineers and studio production.
  • DT 71 IE –  for drums & bass: powerful low end, precise highs for cymbals and percussion.
  • DT 72 IE – for guitar & vocals: reduced occlusion effect, slightly boosted mids, brilliance without harshness.
  • DT 73 IE – for synthesizers, keys, and acoustic instruments: linear bass and mids, subtly elevated highs for natural detail reproduction.
